Mr. Johnson has taught Sunday School to children at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of San Dieguito. He has also served on the Board of Directors for that congregation as well as other organizations. including the University of San Diego School of Law, Law Alumni Association [Immediate Past President], and
Na Koa Kai, a youth organization teaching children Hawaiian culture and outrigger canoeing. He is also certified by USA Rugby as a Level 200 rugby coach, and he serves as an assistant coach for the Point Loma High rugby team. He leads a yearly reading of the Declaration of Independence to celebrate the 4th of July.
